If you were a house, where would your junk drawer be and what would go in it? What area of your life do you hide from the company you’re trying to impress?
What about our world? What areas, nations, people, or issues make you question the goodness and providence of God?
Ash Wednesday invites us into these questions of profound and quotidian relevance. Who are we and who do we want to be? What will it take for us to get there?
In this year’s Lenten series entitled The Deep Dark Terrible Thing, we will be exploring the places in and around us that are marred by sin and shame. I hope you’ll join us over the next few weeks as we bring all that is dark into the light.
You were ash, beloved. And ash you will become again. None of this matters. All of it does.
