For this week’s Funny Friday, I’m rifling through the archives to bring you a real gem from November of 2016. For those of you who don’t know my story, I began college at a community college down the road from my house. So, while I was a sophomore in the fall of 2016, it was only my second month at an actual university, far away from home. I was at an all-hall dinner in the cafeteria when I totally impressed everyone around me and instantly became the most popular guy on campus (… or something.)
Once you accept the fact that you’re a walking human disaster, you become unstoppable. Example: when you’re in the cafeteria, innocently grabbing a salad bowl at the salad bar, and every single bowl (for perhaps the first time in my life, I’m not being hyperbolic, and do mean every single bowl) comes crashing down to the floor, there’s nothing to be embarrassed about. It’s literally just another Wednesday. Just be you, kids – salad bowl wrecking ball and all.
Since that fateful day, I’ve tripped up and down more stairs than I can count, said maybe not the most kid-friendly four letter words in front of the University president, and made a fool of myself at least once a week. The key to not getting embarrassed in life is laughing at yourself louder and quicker than anyone else. I stand by my 2016 proclamation even stronger two years later: Be you – salad bowl wrecking ball and all.
